Sarah makes abstract oil paintings which in the physical world have very flat surfaces
and yet create an intense sense of depth and space.

She chooses pigments for the role they play in the history of trade and visual culture from the prehistoric era to the present day, so that the pigments hold a kind of quiet symbolism within a piece. She researches and paints in her studio every day.
